Kappa Delta offers collegiate women a strong support system and encouragement to excel. Chapter members gain the confidence to achieve their dreams and are inspired to action on campus and in the community.
Plus, if you join Kappa Delta, you find sisters for life. Friendship and mutual support are some of the greatest benefits of sorority involvement. Members encourage each other to be their best selves and hold each other accountable.
Best of all, the Kappa Delta experience allows members to meet and learn from others with different backgrounds and interests. It’s sisterhood at its finest!
This strong sense of sisterhood that is so critical during college does not end upon graduation. KD is for a lifetime! With more than 515 alumnae chapters nationwide, Kappa Delta is never far away.
Academics are a top priority for Kappa Delta. At a time when it was uncommon for females to attend college, our founders were on the forefront. They believed in the pursuit of knowledge as a powerful and empowering goal, and they created an organization that would offer women support for their intellectual endeavors.
Today Kappa Delta remains committed to providing members with the resources they need to be their best. Kappa Delta’s academic excellence focus is designed to grow with members throughout their college years, as their needs and areas of concern evolve.
Each chapter’s academic support program is customized by the chapter and its advisors. Programming options include study sessions, mentoring members in the same major, individual tutoring, incentives for good grades and more. Further, chapters hold an Academic Success Seminar at least once during the year.
The Kappa Delta Foundation supports our commitment to academics by awarding approximately $120,000 in scholarships, fellowships and grants each year to all Kappa Delta sisters across the nation. These scholarships have been made possible through gifts, funds and bequests to the Kappa Delta Foundation. Visit Kappa Delta’s national website for more information on scholarship opportunities and the application process.
Every week at meeting we encourage girls to reach their fullest potential academically by awarding our sisters for their efforts. Our Academic Excellence Chair chooses different incentives and awards the sister that has logged the most study hours. Also girls that have exceded in their classes are highlighted during meeting. At the end of the semester each girl earning a GPA of 3.75 or higher receives a certificate of accomplishment. Every year at our annual Formal an award is given to one new member and one older member that the chapter believes has put in a lot of effort toward their academic achivement.
Over 75% of our chapter has a 3.0 or higher cumulative GPA.
Cultivating leadership potential in our members—that is, providing opportunities for them to learn how to be leaders—has a threefold purpose. It serves the individual, heightens Kappa Delta contributions to the campus, and improves the chapter’s ability to function smoothly as members gain leadership proficiency.

After all, sorority membership should be fun! One of the benefits of joining Kappa Delta is an active social life. Each semester we like to add as many fun events to our calendar as possible including formals, informals, mixers, date parties, and social events with our Panhellenic sisters.
